A Nebraska native, Roger Beverage received his B.A and J.D. degrees (With Distinction) from the University of Nebraska. Upon graduation, Beverage served as a law clerk for a federal judge, followed by a tour on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1971 – 1973. He served in the Army Reserves beginning in 1973 and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1980.

Beverage began his legal career in Lincoln, Nebraska as a trial lawyer. He later served as the CEO of the Nebraska Bankers Association and as the Director of the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance. 

In 1988, Beverage began a 33-year career as President & CEO of the Oklahoma Bankers Association until he retired at the end of April 2021. Among other things during his OBA career, Beverage was a member of the Board of Directors of the State Chamber of Oklahoma for 20 years, serving as Treasurer for four years.  

Beverage was a member of Leadership Oklahoma, Class III, served as both a Trustee and faculty member of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and as a Trustee of the Edmond (Oklahoma) Economic Development Authority.
